DISTRICT E-BIKE INCENTIVE PROGRAM Power your Ride DDOT Government of the District of Columbia Muriel Bowser, Mayor

Program Background

  • The District Electric Bicycle (E-Bike) Incentive Program helps residents buy e-bikes and supports bicycle businesses in the District.

  • Residents can apply to receive a voucher of up to $1,500 towards the purchase of an e-bike, helmet, and lock to be redeemed at authorized local bike retailers.

  • Residents >18yo are welcome to apply, but 100% of the vouchers will be reserved for residents enrolled in SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, or the DC Healthcare Alliance.

  • The application opens on February 1 and residents can apply anytime between February 1 and February 21, 2026. Voucher recipients will be chosen at random after the application window closes.

  • Residents must apply and be an approved voucher recipient before purchasing an e-bike.

  • Voucher recipients can redeem their vouchers only at authorized bike retailers (listed on our website ebikes.ddot.dc.gov).

  • DDOT is hosting in-person outreach and application events in all 8 Wards between February 1-21 which are listed on our website.
