Unpaid Internship Opportunity: Trash & Beautification Committee Intern

Overview
The Trash & Beautification Committee is seeking a motivated and community-minded intern to support efforts to improve neighborhood cleanliness, sustainability, and overall appearance throughout ANC 5D. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in local government, community organizing, environmental justice, or urban planning.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and coordination of neighborhood cleanups and beautification projects 

  • Attend and support monthly committee meetings 

  • Help with outreach to residents, local organizations, and volunteers 

  • Distribute flyers and promote events (both in-person and online) 

  • Track service requests and follow up on sanitation-related concerns 

  • Provide general administrative support as needed 

Meeting Requirements

Attend Trash & Beautification Committee meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:15 PM

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in community service, civic engagement, or environmental issues 

  • Strong communication and organizational skills 

  • Ability to work independently and with a team 

  • Familiarity with Ward 5 or willingness to learn about the community
